April Spotlight On: Moor Imagination

When award winning theatre and comedy writer Perdita Stott, moved back to her home town of Okehampton, she looked for a local writing workshop, aiming to re-immerse herself in Dartmoor’s creative community. Upon realising that there were none in her local community, Perdita solved this gap in the market by launching her own creative writing hub Moor Imagination in November 2022.  Just five months later she has sold out numerous workshops at Okehampton Library, is teaching on our very own Women in Business programme and has truly integrated herself and Moor Imagination into the local creative and small business community. In 2019 after working in the music industry for thirty years Terry Hudson opened the Okehampton based cafe come music shop with the original intention of focusing mainly on the coffee and having a couple of music accessories tucked away at the back to keep his passion going… But Okehampton demanded more! Get Clarity Counselling: A Women in Business Success Story When January 2022 came around Tina Walker had just started a 12 month sabbatical, after 16 years working in private practice, various charity and NHS settings as MBACP registered counsellor. Dreaming of having the freedom to travel and wanting to spend more time living in Turkey, she knew that remote working was the only way to achieve this.  Having already established her Private Practice ‘Get Clarity Counselling’ in Exeter alongside her day job, Tina was looking to re-launch, scale up and turn her side hustle into her main income.
