The Business & IP Centre at Exeter and Barnstaple Libraries host a range of events and workshops to suit start-ups, entrepreneurs or businesses looking to learn new skills or research their industry.

Webinars run weekly on a variety of subjects and are a great way to get an overview of a new topic, or a refresher which can help you to look at your business plan in a new light. Whether you’re just starting out or an established business looking to grow, our webinars are useful, inspiring and informative.

An Intro to Business Modelling – NatWest Business Builder Workshop

James Court from NatWest Business Builder helps you create a single page road map of your business using the Business Model Canvas.

With so much change, challenge and confusion just now, it’s easy to feel lost. That’s why we like to use the Business Model Canvas – a single page road map of your business. By having your entire journey in one view, it’s easier to remain focussed and in control by understanding where you are, what your options are and where danger may lie. This view is crucial when managing change or uncertainty.

Join the NatWest Business Builder team as we examine the 9 key areas of a business model and talk through the best practises for your business. You’ll come away with a sense of where changes could be made to your business model to retain customers, improve cashflow and refine objectives.

About James:

As businesses across Devon continue to restart, rebuild and recover, NatWest’s Local Enterprise Manager, James Court will be supporting entrepreneurs to move forward into 2021 and beyond.

In his role at NatWest, James works with many local organisations to champion the potential of businesses and support entrepreneurs as they develop and grow. This may be through one-to-one support or through networking and facilitating connections with his business network/community.

James will be running regular events and will also support new and developing businesses achieve their potential through NatWest’s Business Builder Programme. The digital tool is on hand to provide help with all aspects of getting new businesses off the ground and ready to scale with a wide range of online learning, workshops and events.

As we move deeper into 2021 and beyond, James will also provide specialist support to female entrepreneurs and those in sustainability focussed enterprise as part of NatWest’s commitment to supporting women in business and our commitment to meet the climate challenge.

James has over 21 years’ experience of working with SMEs from start-ups to corporate sized businesses. In 2020 he won the Exeter Living Award for Business Services. Creating the popular #NatWestBoost networking event, helping to support the thriving local business community across Exeter and beyond. He is a regular contributor for GROW Magazine Exeter, writing a monthly column and is passionate about championing entrepreneurship, helping people scale-up their ventures and achieve their potential.

This is a Zoom webinar – details will be sent to you 24 hours before the session via email.

The session will be recorded for BIPC Devon’s archive. You are free to leave your cameras on or turn them off as you prefer. There will be a chance to ask questions during the session, which you can do via video/audio or by using the Zoom chat function.
