The Business & IP Centre at Exeter and Barnstaple Libraries host a range of events and workshops to suit start-ups, entrepreneurs or businesses looking to learn new skills or research their industry.
Webinars run weekly on a variety of subjects and are a great way to get an overview of a new topic, or a refresher which can help you to look at your business plan in a new light. Whether you’re just starting out or an established business looking to grow, our webinars are useful, inspiring and informative.

Coworking & Community Building
According NatWest’s Rose Review into female entrepreneurship in the UK, one of the main barriers that women in business face is a lack of relatable, sponsors, mentors and role models. Women often lack the professional support networks that can help them to start and scale-up their businesses. Only 30% of women surveyed for the review said they already knew an entrepreneur compared to 38% of men.
Having a support network is absolutely integral to the success of a business. But what happens if you don’t have a network at your disposal? What if the thought of networking events fills you with dread? Coworking could be the solution that you are looking for.
About this event:
This event takes place in person at Newton Abbot Library in Meeting Room S1, and is a collaboration between BIPC Devon, The Tribe, Libraries Unlimited and Teignbridge District Council. Initiated by Tribe founder Stacey Sheppard, this event provides an opportunity for women to give coworking a try and explore the benefits that can be had from working away from home in an environment that enables you meet other likeminded women who understand and share your challenges and know the obstacles that you face.
This ticket is for a whole day session from 9am to 3pm, where attendees will work side-by-side and have the opportunity to meet one another and engage in some very organic, light, non-pressured networking whilst they work.
Stacey’s small community-led coworking space in Totnes caters to female entrepreneurs and women in business. Stacey’s vision for the Tribe is to help women start and grow businesses whilst overcoming the barriers that they face along the entrepreneurial journey. By offering flexible and affordable ways to become part of The Tribe community, Stacey helps women to create their own support network.
