The Business & IP Centre at Exeter and Barnstaple Libraries host a range of events and workshops to suit start-ups, entrepreneurs or businesses looking to learn new skills or research their industry.
Webinars run weekly on a variety of subjects and are a great way to get an overview of a new topic, or a refresher which can help you to look at your business plan in a new light. Whether you’re just starting out or an established business looking to grow, our webinars are useful, inspiring and informative.
One-to-ones are useful for enquiring about how you can access business information and support, to discuss a problem or question you have in a specific area of your business, or to find out more about Intellectual Property. Find out more information on our 1-to-1s page.
Knowing Yourself and Your Values
Indecision, idea-overwhelm, worry about how your pricing, offers, or terms of service might be perceived by others and fears around lack of knowledge are all things that most women in business have experienced at some point. In fact, if we are honest these are things that probably crop up most days, especially during the first few years after starting our businesses. Gradually, however, these things all become easier. This is because we gain a better understanding of ourselves and our values over time, which in turn gives us more confidence when making everyday decisions in our businesses. We can all speed up this process if we set aside some time, and ask ourselves the right questions, but many of us (as women) find finding that time (and prioritising ourselves) to be a little tricky.
In this session you will learn to work out what your personal values are, how to translate them into how you do business, as a step towards making you more confident in enforcing your chosen professional boundaries.
Claire Collis is a digital education specialist, teacher and writer who works with entrepreneurs and small business owners, supporting them to create books and online courses as strategic pillars of their growing businesses. Through her mentoring and consultancy work she helps clients across the world to share their stories, knowledge and expertise in ways that support their goals, their businesses and, in turn, those of their clients.
Zoom webinar – details will be sent to you 24 hours before the session via email.
The session will be recorded for BIPC Devon’s archive. You are free to leave your cameras on or turn them off as you prefer. There will be a chance to ask questions during the session, which you can do via video/audio or by using the Zoom chat function.
