The Business & IP Centre at Exeter and Barnstaple Libraries host a range of events and workshops to suit start-ups, entrepreneurs or businesses looking to learn new skills or research their industry.
Due to Covid-19, many of our events are currently hosted online, via Zoom.
Webinars run weekly on a variety of subjects and are a great way to get an overview of a new topic, or a refresher which can help you to look at your business plan in a new light. Whether you’re just starting out or an established business looking to grow, our webinars are useful, inspiring and informative.
One-to-ones are useful for enquiring about how you can access business information and support, to discuss a problem or question you have in a specific area of your business, or to find out more about Intellectual Property. Find out more information on our 1-to-1s page.

Building an LGBTQ+ Inclusive Business (ONLINE event)
February 25 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Delivered by Max & Maya Price (Founders of Proud2Be, a grassroots user-led social enterprise based in Devon).
A presentation and Q&A – exploring issues faced and barriers for LGBTQ+ people and practical ways to make your business, practice and/or physical space more LGBTQ+ inclusive.
This session will run in-person and online.
Proud2Be is a grassroots user-led social enterprise that supports all LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, questioning, queer, intersex, asexual, pansexual, non-binary + more) people in Devon and beyond, to lead empowered, fulfilled, and authentic lives.
Inspired by the mental health issues they faced as a result of the bullying, isolation, and discrimination they experienced growing up as LGBTQ+ in a rural village, identical twins Max and Maya Price set up Proud2Be in 2011 by launching the Proud2Be campaign which now features videos and photos from various public figures and members of the public.
In a short time, Proud2Be has established itself as a well-respected social enterprise, facilitating various groups and events including an online group, a face-to-face evening group in Newton Abbot, a face-to-face Saturday group in Newton Abbot and Totnes Pride. The groups and events are supported by a volunteer base of 55 and rising.
Proud2Be also runs a youth project, which includes weekly youth groups in Totnes and Newton Abbot, 121 youth support, and a family support group in Newton Abbot.
Zoom webinar – details will be sent to you 24 hours before the session via email.
The session will be recorded for BIPC Devon’s archive. You are free to leave your cameras on or turn them off as you prefer. There will be a chance to ask questions during the session, which you can do via video/audio or by using the Zoom chat function.
