The Business & IP Centre at Exeter and Barnstaple Libraries host a range of events and workshops to suit start-ups, entrepreneurs or businesses looking to learn new skills or research their industry.
Webinars run weekly on a variety of subjects and are a great way to get an overview of a new topic, or a refresher which can help you to look at your business plan in a new light. Whether you’re just starting out or an established business looking to grow, our webinars are useful, inspiring and informative.
One-to-ones are useful for enquiring about how you can access business information and support, to discuss a problem or question you have in a specific area of your business, or to find out more about Intellectual Property. Find out more information on our 1-to-1s page.
Exploring the thorny issue of the inner critic and how the way we talk to and about ourselves, and the language we use can affect our inner and outer world.
We will talk about self-imposed limitations and negative thought patterns and how we can form habits that serve us better in every day life.
We use words every day without realising how much they convey – words like ‘only’ or ‘just’ that come across as apologetic and playing small. Words – like thoughts – have an energy that either supports or harms us. The words of the inner critic never have our best interests at heart!
In this session we will find practical tips for silencing the inner critic and learn how to become our own cheerleaders.
With a history steeped in transformation, Ann works as a holistic coach, change specialist, stress management practitioner, and meditation facilitator, and co-hosts Enterprise Nation’s small business meet-ups for Devon. A solopreneur of Finding True North, she teaches business owners, professionals, and executives how to overcome stress and anxiety, find clarity, and make sense of their business and personal lives.
Ann provides support through individual and team coaching, delivering webinars on personal effectiveness, resilience, productivity, and empowerment; designing ‘Bridging Minds’ de-stress programmes; and speaking at local and national events and conferences.
With the understanding that businesses will thrive only if business owners themselves thrive, Ann has supported both start-ups and professionals through her participation in a webinar series for Women in Business, Global Entrepreneurs’ Week, Plymouth Science Park’s ‘Business Essentials’ programme, and a year long self-care course for corporate leaders.
